For the past month and a bit, there have been large BANG noises echoing through my nearby streets at night. At first, both me and some other people I've spoken to about it thought it was cars backfiring and/or fireworks of some sort.
It's been happening more and more now. About a week ago I heard one during the day, just as loud as the ones at night and just 10 mins ago I heard 2 within 5-ish mins of each other. It's got me stumped.
It can't be the prison - It's much to far away and there's been no news of breakouts.
It can't be the CAVpower yard down the block - There's no 'clang' of dropped metal, and it's empty at night.
It can't be cars backfiring - It's much too loud to be anything car related.
It might be gunfire - but there's been absolutely no local reports of shootings/near shootings on the news at all, and no Emergency sirens either. The only hint has been frequent helicopter activity, but they always look like News helicopters to me, and they're never out on the nighs of the sounds.
It might be fireworks - There's a fireworks shop decently close by and plenty of people who can buy them, but we've never had noises this often 'in succession'.
What the hell is happening?
