I've had a bit of a play with it on other peoples computers, and I really like it. However, should I try running as my sole OS? I hate dual-booting, so that's not happening. Those of you who have used it more extensively, would you say it's bug free enough for every day usage? What problems are you still having with it?
Well the easiest thing would be to see if all your most commonly used/important programs/games work flawlessly on the new OS
I dunno how good 7 is when it comes to being able to run programs, if it's anything like Vista in the sense of compatibility, wait a few years or just don't bother upgrading from XP. IMO
Also, are Microsoft basically releasing RC1 to the public? How long does the RC version last? I never understood that part of the whole Windows 7/Beta thing, surely it doesn't just last forever? Otherwise they're just giving away their shiny new OS for free
Microsoft, they don't do free

I've used it since February as my sole OS, never a problem, never a bug.
I'd say go. If it screws up, sue them.

I like pie.
don't

Don't cry if by some very bad luck the OS fucks up your hardware and fries it.ghettoperson wrote:

Don't use MS operating systems before they have at least one service pack.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
Pasrtition Table fried, so i went and installed win7 64, i like it tbh.
everything i write is a ramble and should not be taken seriously.... seriously. ♥
They sure don't. RC1 will expire June 1st 2010, and as of March 1st, this:Mekstizzle wrote:

To avoid interruption, you'll need to install a non-expired version of Windows before March 1, 2010. You'll also need to install the programs and data that you want to use."
I need around tree fiddy.
I'm downloading it right now. I have a spare computer that I use for testing purposes. Its my guinea pig. The hardware is pretty dated and slow but I'll give this OS a shot.
Fly bastard, the last few times I have tried to get it, the site just freezes up/download rate is horrible. I did install it on my gf's laptop but it's difficult to gage whether or not she has actually noticed yetlink52787 wrote:

I had to torrent it as my internet tends to fall over a lot, which isn't very compatible with MS's stupid download applet. On it now though.

I like to play with new things. It excites me.
And your avatar irritates me. I keep thinking I've got dead pixels. Which I'm assuming is the idea.
