Installing bf2 on Vista 64 not working

So i just installed Vista 64bit home premium on my computer. And now im trying to install bf2 but everytime i get to disc two it brings up a message saying, battlefield 2 has failed to install, please try again from the beginning.

Specs:
E6600 stock
4gb ddr2 800 Corsair 4-4-4-12
xfx Ati 4890 and visiontek 3870, NOT in CF, running dual monitors
Asus p5e mobo

Interesting... I have the DVD one and there is no problem isntalling it on Vista x64.

Do the CD version keys work in DVD one? Downloading the iso and installing with it would work if thats the case.

It might just be the disk. If it is too scratched up it won't work.

have you tried to install in xp compatibility mode?

Right click the installer exe, go to the compatability tab.

Yeah, you can go to the DVD rom drive and right click and explore the disc. Find setup.exe and r-click, properties, then the compatibility tab, check 'run in compatibility mode' and select xp SP 2.

Also keep in mind that BF 2 and 2142 needs hotfixes to run on Vista.

I installed (And reinstall with b/c of patch 1.5 lol) with the ancient 5 CD BF2 + SF set. It must be an isoloated problem. Is disc 2 detected in your disc drive when you insert it seperately?

That's nothing, I have the original 3 Disc set of BF2, the 2 disc set of SF, and one disk of AF and EF.

Grab an iso of BF2
Install from the iso using your CD key
