i can't for the shit of me get dual screens to work, or get the correct resolution on my monitors, i've read countless tuts, editing the xorg.conf file many times, always resulting in a non bootable ubuntu.

Does anyone have ubuntu here with a 4850? If so does it work well for you and how did you get it to work? <3

I'm pretty sure he has a 4850 too.

EDIT: Nvm it was Stimey that had a 4830.

Running the official ATI restricted drivers? Then you should be able to do it though CCC

Indeed, make sure drivers are correctly setup and it should be a cakewalk.

Fresh Install EDIT: of ubuntu
Then i installed the one it asked if i wanted..

But in CCC, the x-config is all greyed out. If i hover over it, it says i need admin access?

I suppose the control panel is under preferences and not system then.

Run it from a terminal. I don't know the command for running the CCC but for my nvidia card it's
