Yeah we've got 'em in the shithole I work in. They either have some error with the computers or fail to scan things at the right price or customers accidentaly scan the same thing 80 times without realising it or some bollocks like that. Funny 'cause there's a voice-over that comes on advising everyone who wants "Quick and Easy Shopping" to sign up to the clusterfuck of a system.

Heh, I made a poll here a year ago about this and at the time, the majority of people here liked self-checkouts. I never liked them. I'll only use it if the other lines are long and I have like 2-3 things. Otherwise, I'd rather wait for a cashier to help me than do it myself and likely have some stupid computer error that I can't help and wait even longer to have somebody fix it.

Go into the technology field. Perhaps they can repair/design the components that go into the self checkout machines.

In theory (I stress theory) this should help keep consumer cost down. I prefer people develop a marketable skill rather then bag groceries for charity.

I love them, not once had an problem that the attendant didn't get rid of with her sexy card.
They work great for me, so quick. I'm in and out in a jiffy. I hate queuing if there is a faster method and it's not like they are hard to use.

I love the self-checkout lane because it's an impossibly easy task that takes me a maximum of 2 minutes to check out my 15 items or less. But for many dipshits, it takes them fucking forever, and I get so impatient. Why the fuck would you use a self checkout if you don't know how and there's someone more helpful and experienced that could do it!!?!?!?!???!!!!?!?!?!?!!!!!???!!?!?!?!

Whenever I'm at Albertsons of Vons in America I always use self checkout, because there's always these huge lines and most people are too retarded to understand how to use self check outs, so I usually save like...maybe 5-6 minutes doing it myself. At first it took my like 10 minutes to scan like 20 articles, then it got easy once you got the trick.

We have them at our local grocery store, and I like them when I'm only buying a few items. They even tag the produce with the number code, making even that easy for checkout. If I have a large quantity of items I go to a regular checkout stand.
