Well it makes sense. The razorback isn't nearly a worthwhile tradeoff for the SMG while the jar is a little closer. Maybe if you could extinguish yourself it might be worth it just or if it replaced the machete (so you could splash people then finish them with the SMG).

- [TF2] The Sniper/Spy Update
It makes more sense for Jar-Kukri and Razorback-SMG.
The Razorback stuns the spy, allowing for an easy Kukri to the face. Alternatively, you can jar people and spray them with the SMG, actually dealing some damage.
Having Jar-SMG and Razorback-Kukri makes little sense as you don't need a damage multiplier for the Kukri/Main weapon and the spy stun would then leave you susceptible to running out of ammo (unlikely but possible), and thus leaving you without a weapon. I assume the jar would have either multiple uses or be like the Sandvich.

Just going on what they've done in the past. The secondary weapon is usually the wackiest toy or most different. Like the flaregun to the shotgun, sandvich to the shotgun or the drink for the pistol. So it makes sense that their wacky jar is probably replacing the secondary.
Edit: I'm probably right "Jarate chop". Meaning you'll still have the machete.

Yeah that Star Wars one made me laugh too. I wonder what you need to do for it.
So I guess the question now is...
Will there be a Butterfly Knife unlockable? My guess is yes, but a lot of people are unsure.

Maybe something like leeching health or something along those lines.
The "Meet the Spy" vide0 has 2 boxes that say "lost dracula" and "found dracula"
And theres one achievement where the spy's hand is popping out of the ground with a differently shaped knife.
Yeah I remember seeing the Dracula boxes. They could just be a joke. But it would certainly be a suitable name for a new knife.
I really can't think of what they could do to the current one, assuming it keeps the backstab ability. If they make the knife completely different then it'll be interesting to see what happens to it.
I say interesting. I'll probably just go since a lot of the unlockables so far seem to have been about lowering a class's skill ceiling, rather than raising it. But we'll see. I'll stay optimistic.

Make the knife only do frontstabs!
Uberspies incoming!

OP Updated
Jarate is actually amazing. The Sandvich got flamed as well but is actually a worthy replacement of the Shotgun.

Btw, suspected Sniper descriptions from TF2 Wiki

(not accurate until Valve releases the descriptions)

That really is a matter of opinion. Not only is the Sandvich incredibly boring (is has no.. ability. You just press fire and get health. Fun.) but the Shotgun is too good to lose if you can aim with it. You move pretty much as fast as a Soldier and have enough health to 1v1 any class if you land your shots, which isn't very hard because since you're moving slowly, aiming is pretty easy. Depending on the level of course health packs may be scarce, but on most levels there's a good supply always nearby.Kptk92 wrote:

I never have Sandvich equiped.

Oh, I have Sandvich equipped all the time. I guess it's just a matter of what people like more, or what situation they're going to be in. If a team has no Medic, then the Sandvich would be a good idea, for example.
But what do you do when some pesky pyro comes in from around corner and you don't have time to rev up?
You use shotgun. And if that don't work, you use more shotgun.

Or rev up, kill him and eat. There's two ways you can do it, and it depends on what you have equipped.
Switching to shotgun takes as long as spinning up the gun, doesn´t it?NooBesT wrote:

So I'm hanging out in /v/ watching the Jarate piss shit-storm, and I've seen a few posters say that the Razorback and Jarate will take up the secondary slots, and the Spy and Sniper's new meleè weapons come tomorrow.
My hopes for a Boomerang have risen.

You run around with the Shotgun out. Instant attack with full freedom of movement.Sisco10 wrote:

Switch to the Minigun when you're about to face a large number of enemies.
That would make sense. Neither Sniper unlock looks like it replaces melee, and obviously neither Spy one does either. So today we'll have melee, hats, the new unlocking system, and achievement descriptions?Fenris_GreyClaw wrote:

So today will be a big update. Unless we get something retarded like this

Yeah. They could just give both classes no new melee weapon. It would be a strange thing if they did that though.
Although the idea of both melee weapons tonight gives me great hope... but no other class has had 4 unlocks, so I dunno..
So I assume that after update comes everyone will try to play sniper or spy, thanks god the number of kits available is limited . . .
Nevertheless does anyone know a good guide to play spy?
