SF weapons on Vanilla?

I have the SF expansion pack. A while back when SF first came out, I saw a bunch of people playing on vanilla with SF weapons, grapple, flashbangs, zip lines etc.

Everytime I go onto vanilla, I don't have any of my SF equipment available. Can someone tell me how it is done?

You may use SF unlockables (ie f2000, scar, mp7, etc...) once you've unlocked them. But I believe that only the flashbangs and possibly the smoke grenades are usable in vanilla BF. The grappling hooks and zip lines are not available. (poo)

Maybe I was dreaming...but I swear I've seen people ziplining on BF2 Vanilla somewhere before I got SF because I remember thinking to myself..."that is cool! I'll have to get SF!"

Does it have to do with the Universal Unlock setting on the Server or something?

I think theres a mod for unranked servers. *shrug* because i think your right and i too seem to remmeber something like that

Probably a demo showing off the new gameplay mechanics. Instead of making a new map, they just modified the gameplay using the same map and engine.

Flashbangs are the only SF equipment you can use in vanilla BF2, and you get them with the F2000 unlock.

I'm sorry, I meant the only equipment you can use in official ranked servers. Unless the server you're talking about was a ranked server.... that's really weird.
