that's cool... my q9400 at 2.66 is fast... i have had it set at 3.2 and 3.4.... runs a little hotter... doesn't seem to make anything that much faster as far as i can tell...?   got 38,000 on the old 3dmark 2003... and 40,000 or so overclocked to 3.4... but thats synthetic testing... '
    i get 95fps plus on bf2/2142 and have had no issues with DIRT 60 fps/ Crysis 60 fps 1280x1024 game determined high settings/ Red Alert 3/ EP45 UD3P gigabyte moboard/8800gtx/4gb ram/650 watt antec/bigass old antec 1080 case...
Photoshop opens fast... especially when you close it and then a little while later open it up... it's wild...
you will be very happy with any of these q9550/8400/8500/9400     I use vue6(3d terrains) and it's so much faster than old comp...same with 3dmax and bryce 6...   Premiere pro and AE are a lot quicker rendering now also...

and i have heard people have had trouble with vista 64...?  maybe that's been fixed now?    vista 32 or even xp pro might be better until Win7 comes out in the fall...

not sure, but there have been arguments popping up, and alot of tech savvy posters have supported vista.

I haven't had a single problem with Vista x64. I find it much better than XP.

And don't buy it.. download it and spend that extra $112 on your hardware. Maybe a 1 TB Hard-drive?

Q9400 is quite a bit slower in games than Q9550. Cache means a lotin gaming performance and thats where Q9400 lacks most.

Vista x64 > all right now.
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
