Scientists have bred a group of marmosets that glow when they are exposed to ultra-violet light.

They did it by altering the monkeys' genes. Genes are the basic building blocks of life, almost like a set of instructions for a living thing.

The achievement is important because one of the marmosets had a baby which also glows - the first time something like this has happened with monkeys.

It may seem like a fun little thing to do but if you are going to play around with animal genes at least make it useful to the animal rather then make them glow in the dark play things.

Come back when you know why they are making genes glow in the dark.

Spoiler (highlight to read):
the dye is injected into stem cells and dna from the early stages of life. when the animals grow up, you can see which stem cells have developed with the dye so you know what genes you just fucked with

Good luck finding the genes that develop into wings without first finding the switch to turn on or off in the winged animal which you first find from injecting dye into the winged animal and producing glow in the dark wings that affect nothing else but the wings and then replacing the gene sequence in the non winged animal with genes from the winged animal that doesn't affect the development of the non winged animal in any other way other than producing wings, dimwit.
