I'll be working for a company that does finishing work: painting, papering, wall covering, plastering, skim coating, faux finishing, custom effects.
Any tips?
I generally like doing handy work, but I don't have much experience doing the above listed type work.
watch and learn. ask questions, just no stupid questions. don't act like you know what you're doing, you don't want to be that asshole.

I advise to get the help from a worker who is pr0 so you can watch him and get all the secret technics and ask him allways!
is he going to work for ATG?Harmor wrote:

< doing a temp job in painting as a favour.
Seems pretty cruisey tbh. Nothing like working on a concreting or construction crew. Then again he is subcontracting atm and I don't think he has a deadline for the building he's on to be done... and he's a good boss.
As mentioned, get good boots. You will spend much of your time standing.
Keep hydrated and get decent at night rest during the week. Lack of sleep = fuckups at work. Don't let it happen. Fucking up a job can cost big dollars in some cases.
The snacks thing is important too. Best of luck with the new job, hope its enjoyable.

Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
Work sites can be dangerous. Safety first always. Protective equipment is not just for pussies.
Mistakes can be expensive, try not to make any.
Stepping back to admire your work can be fatal, make sure you really are on the ground and not still on the ladder.
(Or at best you could severely sprain your ankle and have to make the 200 mile drive home for the weekend trying to drive a manual with your left foot )
