Recently, I started to play as an Anti-tank more often. I really like MEC PP-19. It is so much better than the USMC MP5.

It has a larger 45 magazine and a higher 900 rate of fire by comparing the AK-101 (30/600). In close range, I think it is even more deadly than any other assault rifle, speically when you are facing more than one enemy. And its firing sounds so rapid and crispy that you just feel the enjoyment.

I think the MP5 is great if you give it a chance. Sometimes it's just a matter of playing with it for a while and getting the hang of it, close range or long range. I personally believe the two are pretty much identical

I gotta agree. The pp-19 is the best weapon in the AT class. I enjoy the mp5 as well, but given a choice, I'd rather have the pp-19. The P90 is a pretty good weapon, but it's not accurate enough for my tastes. I'd love to have that red dot scope on the pp-19 and mp5 though.

Yes, I did unlock the dao and I only use it when people are really making me mad. I have always viewed the dao as a cheap weapon, and now that the smgs actually shoot things, I can have fun with the at class.
No offense to you guys. It may be good for you, but I can't bring myself to use it under normal conditions.

Even if you like the dao, you have to admit it has no range whatsoever (excluding the random sniper dao shots that kill you from across the map). Both the pp-19 and the mp5 have decent accuracy at medium to long range.
Up close, it depends on the player. I waited to unlock the dao (and scar) until the 2 free unlocks everbody got right before 1.2 came out, so I never had a reason to use it. Because of that, the smgs are still a better option for me.

I also prefer the pump shotties and the mp7 to the jackhammer... Guess I'm just not a huge auto-shottie person.

K, before I say this let me begin by saying I have ABSOLUTELY no life whatsoever, so don't bother teasing me for noticing this. Now then...

Try this. Start any single-player map that features the USMC vs. MEC. Spawn as an anti-tank. Now, start running around and pull out the pistol. Then, switch to the MP5. The reticle should remain the same size. Now switch to the MEC team, spawn as anti-tank and do the same thing. The reticle will get a bit bigger when you switch to pistol.

Both the MR-444 and 92FS have identical accuracy (trust me on this, I've got over 1200 pistol kills), but the PP-19's reticle is somewhat smaller than the pistol's, while the MP5's is the same size as the pistol's. So the PP-19 is a bit more accurate than the MP5 (in addition to having a bigger mag).

Told you I have no life...but hope that helps. The BF2S Wiki says they have identical accuracy but there is at least a slight difference.

Yes the stats are the same but I agree it's easier to aim with the pp-19 than mp5. And the magazine difference can be a godsend. Both can be useful alternatives to the DAO in the right setting, but I generally go with the DAO. Haven't tried the p90 yet.

Try getting into a real close-range firefight with the DAO, and then come back and tell me it's cheap. Anyone can easily lose track of their clip and then hear the clicks of doom. And with a reload time of 7 and a half seconds, you're pretty much screwed, unless you have some mad pistol skills. Yes it is a devastating gun in a one on one fight, but its weakness shows when you have multiple enemies staring you down. Trust me.

I've gotten in plenty of close range battles with the dao and still prefer the smgs. When an entire squad/clan uses the dao to assault an urban flag all at once, THAT'S cheap. Your loss man. I'll take the DAO-12 + pistol combination any day. In fact, the only SMG I use at all anymore is the MP-7 because it has a little more flexibility for the Engineer class.

The beauty of the DAO is that you can take down 2-3 unarmored members of a tight squad with just 2 clicks. Just aim high. The problem with the SMG's is that you can usually only take down 3 enemies at most.

Recently, in three separate incidents, I've taken down a full squad emptying the DAO, emptied the pistol, then a knife kill. Dodging, evading here and there of course.

I hate the sub machine guns. They're just too weak.

The DAO12 is a great weapon for close range. Running out of ammo should not be a problem, because you shouldn't be needing more than 6 shots to kill. If I ever run out of ammo for any reason, I just whip out my trusty knife. Pistols are terrible CQC weapons.

I've been using AT a lot lately because I'm trying to get more hours for expert...
At close range, the DAO is unmatched, except by the other shotguns.

If you need to kill someone at long range, use the Eryx/SRAW. Medium range, use the pistol.
Using the SMGs leaves you without a close range weapon (can't be using the knife always...). The only thing an SMG might be good for is medium range, and there it is beaten by the superior pistol.

I've used the P90 once by picking it up, and it felt identical to the CS:S version (spammy weapon with a huge clip and little damage). I'll take a closer look at it if someone drops it for me.
