Again, spouting about shit you don't know. Plenty of open engagements between the army, SAS and the IRA. Its well documented. Read up about the South Armagh brigade.
Die for their beliefs.......does starving yourself to death for your beliefs not count? Attacking an SASE OP in open ground? The IRA where up against the SAS. You go up against the SAS, you know their is a very good chance you are going to get killed.
No one would win. 2 Guerrilla army's have never fought openly because its impossible. Northern Ireland contains guerrilla army's on both sides and in 50 odd years they never openly fought each other. In fact their was actual collusion on some matters between the IRA and UDA.
