I have a quick question..........

How does the UK voting system work? and is it tractable?

I was having this debate with a couple of friends who claim our votes can be traced?
Thiscame about by saying don't vote for the BNP otherwise our vote would be traced and employers wont em-play you, my argument is that its not otherwise the votes would be controlled and the people wouldn't be able to speak out for what they want.

Any clues?

I would like to point out that non of us would even consider voting for the BNP racist ****s but the point of the topic is are votes tractable?

GTFO, your not John C. McGinley!

Otherwise his stolen text is right, there is no way that votes can be traced, it would go against the idea of free elections so completely it would make them more than useless.

That's what I said, voting would become pointless.

This, essentially. Every constitution in the West (following the Magna Carta) stipulates that you can't peddle votes. That means that any tracing is illegal. So in theory, you could steal a ballot box, but you'd have to do it before it were counted, which would mean stelaing it from the polling station. Good luck getting away.

Well obviously.

But Flecs was dismissing Cosmo because he thought it wasn't a scrubs quote..

Flecs didn't fail, and neither did I, you just didn't know what verbatim meant, and now you're trying to cover it up.

Cosmo said he thought it was a Scrubs quote.

I said that I was pretty sure he'd quoted Scrubs exactly.

AND BACK ON TOPIC.
No voting in the UK is anonymous. When you show up at the local polling station you must present your voting card, to prove that you are a registered/eligible voter, then you go into the voting booth with your form, vote with the appropriate method  (marking the card) and put it into the ballot box and bingo your done.
There is no way that they can trace who any one person has voted for, and even if they could for an employer to sack/not employ you for your political following is illegal.

Edit: Finray you have failed miserable there...
