Hey guys,

I am trying to record a vid with fraps, but for some reason I get lag with Windows Vista 64-bit.

Is there any other program to record with, or is there anyfix for it.. to get no lag.

What I tried was full size + half size
No sound and with sound
60 FPS and 100 FPS.. but none solves it..

Thanks anyway =P

You are lagging because it takes a lot of system resources to essentially take a screenshot of your game 60 times a second.

Specs?

EDIT: Yeah what Flaming is trying to say is that Fraps is a very demanding program to use, you have to have a real good computer to record without much lag.

That being said, if you're playing any Call of Duty there's a way to record without fraps.

But other programs you could try are XFire (Press Scroll + v ingame) and Gamecam.

EDIT: Lol I hit quote not edit ^^

Check if your hard drive(s) are not in PIO mode.

I have a quite new system if you ask me, since I use Ultimate (Vista) I have lag in Battlefield 2..

my specs are;

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9450 @ 2.66GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
Memory: 4094MB RAM
Hard Drive: 570 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280
Keyboard: Logitech HID-compliant G15 Keyboard
Mouse: Logitech HID-compliant G5 Laser Mouse
Operating System: Windows Vistaâ„¢ Ultimate (6.0, Build 6000) (6000.vista_gdr.071023-1545)
Motherboard: NVIDIA N780i Tri-Sli

How to check if they are on PIO mode, and what is PIO xD

When recording Crysis or CoD4, it doesn't lag... but Battlefield 2 + Windows Vista Ultimate = Pure Failure..

BF2 has this bug.. it's because you're saving the video to the same hard-drive you're reading the game from. Save it in a different HDD.
