Picking up radio with my speakers xD ?

Hey guys, I just bought a Logitech 2.1 speakers for my PC. Every night between 9pm and around midnight I start getting some really fu**ing wierd music coming out. Right now I'm getting some Russian shit, I'm not even fucking kidding!!!! Before I had German Folklore yesterday, and the day before some random weird language thing. I have NO other apps running in the background, only the needed things. If I turn the volume up I hear it less and hear my PC stuff more, if I turn it all the way down I hear it again.

When somebody rings the doorbell my speakers make this weird noise, I don't know how to explain it.

What...the...fuck??? It's so annoying.

Your speakers are not properly shielded. Stray signals are being picked up by your speaker wires just like an antenna. What you have to do is 'de-tune' your antenee or wires goes to the speakers.

I'm not sure the best way to do that cheaply, but getting shielded speaker cables wouldn't be a bad start. Perhaps someone else could purpose a cheaper solution?

That's what you get for buying Logitech speakers.

Start by moving the bass speaker or where ever the signal cable comes in a cable lenght in any direction. If that doesn't work, get some better signal cable for it.

Knowing the quality of Logitech speakers, it could very well be poorly shielded on the inside too, and picking stuff up from there. If you live close to a radio transmitter, there might be no other options than replacing the whole set if moving it and new cables won't work.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Make sure the Logitechs are connected to the same power outlet as the PC and monitor. Also recheck if cables are plugged in firmly.

You never had any mp3 player where the earphones acted as the radio antenna? Same thing here. Cables from Logitech act as the antenna if not properly shielded.

No, it's a very, very common problem.
