It's illegal to sell and buy in the EU with the exception of Sweden (and to some extent the passenger ships between Finland and Sweden). Possession is legal, as is limited import for personal use. Snus was widely sold in Finland until 1995 when it became illegal at the same time as the age limit for tobacco was raised from 16 to 18.

Downy, I'll have to try that. Don't know what the limitations are for taking that stuff back to Finland from the US is, somebody must know though. Two more weeks man!

It's illegal to sell and buy in the EU with the exception of Sweden (and to some extent the passenger ships between Finland and Sweden). Possession is legal, as is limited import for personal use. Snus was widely sold in Finland until 1995 when it became illegal at the same time as the age limit for tobacco was raised from 16 to 18.

From Sweden to Finland you can actually bring a truckload if you want to as it's classified as foodstuff and not tobacco. As long as you can prove that the truckload is only for your personal use. Within the EU, there are basically no restrictions for anything. From Norway it would be another story, but I'm guessing Norwegians head to Sweden for cheap snus anyway. Damn expensive over there, I hear.

Sure is ... Norwegians are often in Sweden for Alcohol, Smokes and Snus ... and food also ... it's about 10 - 20% cheaper in general and the Swedish currency is about 20% lower also so that makes it cheaper even further ... we have about 1 hour to drive to cross the border ...
