I know there's plenty of threads about this, but this round was too much and i read nothing about it yet, that this was possible.

A friend of mine was playing as commander in the same team i was in(50 slot Server)...
He did a good job, no doubt.

BUT he made 20+ arti kills while sitting in air defense, and 20+ arti kills while sitting in tow.
Resulting in him getting the top Round Score, the Ground and air Defense Ribbons/Badges + expert Spec Ops Badge.

He is a good commander and I couldn't care less about the IAR first place and the score... but the Badges/Ribbons annoyed me.
I'm usually someone who goes out for those Ribbons the old fashioned way and kills people... but seeing as how easy it is to get those, I highly doubt it was ment that way.

Yeah I'm a whineboy, live with it or save it.

Isn't it grand that no matter how worthless a post is... theres at least two ppl that make some more worthless posts. ^^

No shit. ^^  Seems like you don't like people getting ribbons the easy way, 99% of the people here probably did it, who knows -- who cares, basically we are all tired of 'look what he did' ; ' did he statpad?' ; 'Why is so and so a .... he didn't earn it' ; ' look at his stats!'.  There are soo oo  many posts about people worried what other people got or has earned.. Basically worry about yourself and who cares..  is that a decent post, Mr. Judgemental?

You didn't say what level badge. The basic ground and air defence badges just require you to sit, you don't have to kill anything. The veteran and expert badges require kills with ground and air defence weapons, so if he got both veteran badges he had to have made at least 24 kills in addition to the arti kills.

As far a the expert Spec Ops badge, any kind of kills count. I got veteran Engineer while driving a tank without a single kill on foot. You can earn Sniper badges while flying a jet. Being commander gives you no special advantages.

Actually not true.  Last I saw, arty kills do count toward badges and ribbons of whatever vehicle you are in when they hit.  It's how I got the air defense ribbon.

The only thing i have against commanders is when they fly in choppers or jets. Maybe if they are a gunner thats coool but flying and commanding is a no go.

I only did it for Spec Ops Specialist, and it was accidental, I got it the old fashioned way on regular BF2 but I played a round on Warlord and thanks to arty. strikes I got it...it was odd.

No, your arty kills only count towards your vehicle and kit kills not your weapon kills.

hmm..today i have reached over 60 hours in ground defence..i have checked that it says 60+h in BFHQ than I have joined game, sit in TOW as a commander...got around 40 kills..nothing...next game same thing and again no badge...so did something change in the last patch??? 24 kills in a tow or MG isnt easy task without commander kills...i hope they didn't change it!

WTF guess no one plays CMD here it now take 3 KILLS to get one point as commander, so your 20+ ARTI kills would be 7 POINTS, also you can no longer get KILLS with ARTI, you get global point but no KILL points, the Badges your talking about must be the Basic,

Basic Ground = 5 MINS in Tow or Mounted MG (No kills needed here)
Basic Air Def = 5 MINS in AA or Stinger
EXPERT SpOs= 40 Kills.

Sounds like your boy SOLD YOU TEAM OUT, got commander for the 2x score and just went on a killing spere instead of Commanding anyway Hats off to him for making more people hate to play this game.

Wow.  You do realise that none of what you said is true here, right?

You do not get points for artillery kills.  Commander score is an average of what your teammates get, pure and simple.  No 1 point for 3 kills, nothing for your kills, however you get them.

And by killing the other team with artillery, the Commander is helping his team, big style.  Hats off to the guy in question for sitting in a useless piece of machinery, like a MMG or TOW, and working towards the awards.  Without ideas like this, nobody will ever make the stupid requirements of some of these badges.
