My parents are sick of getting shitty interest rates on our savings, so we figured we'd just buy a holiday house with the money. However, where should it be? They were thinking the Lake District until I pointed out the UK was shit and none of us would want to holiday there. My suggestion was Whistler. Where do you suggest forum?

I guess we might rent it out during the year, we're not really sure right now. At the minute, we just want something where we're actually going to get some kind of return on our money in the future. I take it Cannes is really popular for renting then? Thing is, it's not just an investment, we want to use it ourselves, and none of us particularly want to go to Cannes.

Yeah, a skiing buddy of mine suggest Chamonix as well. There's nothing gigantic there, but you seem to be able to get a pretty decently sized chalet for 1 mill euros.
