my sister screw up my laptop a few days ago, I cant be bothered looking into it so i just thought i would reformat it

I proceeded to install win vista x64 on it and everything went nice until the point of the last reboot, i get this message

booting "windows Vista"

acpi
vista loader 2.1.2

ACPI: reclaim memorry not found!
done!
fallback 1
find --set-root /bootmgr

error 17: file not found
booting windows NT/2000/XP

fallback 2
find --set-root /ntldr

error 17: file not found
booting  'enter Command line'

boot failed! press any key to enter command line

I have also not format the partition since we didn't back up our files, we have some important files in my laptop that my sister needs for college.
but i doubt this is the problem.

this my laptop spec"
manufacturer: Acer aspire 5920G
CPU: intel core 2 duo T5750 2.0Ghz
GPU:8600GS 256MB
HDD: 250 GB
RAM 3 GB

im shite at tech, but i dont think that you can install an OS without formatting the drive /making a partition.

Did you boot from the CD or did you install while the old OS was running? Was this an upgrade or re-install?

i did it on BIOS, like it supposed to be, well that's how i learned to do it, i have install Os several times already and this is the first time this sht happened

the previous Os version that my laptop had was windows vista home premium, and i bet it was 32 bit version but i only have the ultimate 64 bit version.
will that help fix my problem?

While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

I agree with max here, you're going to want to figure out a way to back up your data before going any further. Whether it be by slaving it to another machine, or booting to another OS...

Try hooking that hard drive up to another machine as a secondary hard drive. That might be your only shot at saving those files.
