I browsed over the other laptop thread going now, but I'm looking to carry over my videogame habit to my laptop. Asus looks good, but also expensive. I'm semi-budgeted at $1500 but I can go up to $1800 or so for the right deal. I don't want a Mac obv. Can you help me out, techies?
My friend is getting the Gateway P-7805u as seen here for $1100 at Best Buy. What do you think of the P-7808u?

For $1800 you could get a really good gaming desktop...or a just above average gaming laptop.

Are you confined to getting a laptop or can you get a desktop?

I'm going to college in the fall so a laptop is kind of a must. Tbh games aren't too important, I just want a strong computer that wont get too outdated in 4 years.

Oops, forgot the link in the first post.

Sager. Completely unknown but they make really good stuff, for any budget.

you get decent laptop and good gaming pc with the price of one decent gaming laptop. Much preferrable choice.

Yes.

And school blows when you have to lug around 10 pounds of bulky laptop. I would say get an EEE laptop and spend the rest of your money on a kickass desktop
