Good luck on the ASVAB...I studied for it for like 3 months only to decide that enlisting wasn't the best option. It's really not that hard.

and what are you doing now, holding out for a management position?

Going to college? WOW, and to think you almost wasted your life and joined the military, cuz no one EVER was able to recover from joining the military and go to college, or even go to college while they were in. They are all too busy wasting their lives or killing.

I have no idea what I'm talking about? Where did I say that going into the military was a waste of time? I NEVER said that. This IS EXACTLY what I was talking about in the other thread. You put arguments into people's mouths and then make it seem like they actually said them. And I'm the ignorant one? Mountain out of a molehill.

If TMo wants to enlist, that's fine. It's obviously what he wants to do and it's what he'd prefer to do. Others would prefer to go different routes. Maybe I'd rather go to college first so I can further my aviation training? Ever figure that? No, of course you didn't.

I'm still joining the military, fyi. I'm going to Embry-Riddle and doing Air Force or Navy ROTC. So maybe it's you who should get a clue and try not to understand someone's lifeplan from a 20 word post.

Well, they're ALSO going to do a background check, since some of the ratings I'm interested in come with a Top Secret clearance.  But yeah...God damn.

They are thorough.  They will follow up with these people too.  Expect your former bosses to get calls/interviews to rate your character.

My recruiter said there are far too many recruits for them to actually do that...that the MOST they'll do is cross-reference, and even that isn't likely.  He said if there are a couple people I don't know the addresses of phone numbers for, not to worry about it, that we'll make one up.  I laughed, but he was being serious.

I'm not sure what exactly the person was going for, but my dad had to rate a former employee's character for the Navy I think?  I remember him telling me that a Navy guy came and interviewed him for like 30 minutes about the guy.  This was years ago and I can't remember the exact details but it struck me as odd.

lol i'm doing that now, i have my employers info but i have yet to get my three friends and shit

my recruiter is holding off on putting me through MEPS until the beginning of July, but i dont give a shit, no matter what i still have a year of school left
