Recently my laptop froze so i reset it by holding the power button. Now everytime it starts it shuts off. It powers on for about 5 seconds then turns off. No screen shows up either. All led lights turn on then off after 5 seconds. This process just keeps on repeating. Sometimes it does not turn off but there is still a black screen. I can hear the fan and harddrive work btw. The laptop is an hp pavilion dv6000. Please help. Thanks
Delete one of the threads. You've got the double posting bug. It might be a problem with the motherboard, in which case there's not a whole lot you can do with a laptop. Take it in for repairs?
EDIT: Did you get a manual with the laptop detailing such a problem? Having all LEDs light up (if it doesn't do it usually) does sound like the motherboard's got an error.
You also weren't updating anything at the time, right? Because updating the BIOS and cutting power in the restart/rewrite block time will wipe the chip clean and probably lead to a problem like that. The chip can't be replaced by yourself (as far as I know).

I had a similar problem when I had a dead video card... so it could also possibly be that.
