Can everyone who is British do an American accent? and isnt it much harder the other way around like for an American to do an British English accent?

my English teacher (who is from England and has a British accent) can do a perfect American/Canadian accent. Granted, he can do almost every accent out there and actually teaches how to do accents at the local theater.
