My dad brought up this topic tonight at supper and I figured who better to ask than BF2s.

Is there mandatory military conscription going on in the states right now? Say you turn 18 (or 21, I don't know), are you forced to join a branch of the American Armed Forces, such as Marines, Army, Navy, or Air Force?

That's exactly what I was telling him. He thought that right after you turned 21, you had to go off to basic training, and either 'go to war' or join the reserves. Thanks.
