I am currently updating my iPod to the new 3.0 firmware, but updates wipe everything from my device.

Now, the backup utility that I have does not recognize my iPod Touch

I need a good program that can backup music and video on an iPod Touch.

nope, ipods are DRM protected.

can't take anything off of them.

It doesnt work for me

It didn't work first time, keep trying reconnecting it and it will eventually recognise that a device is plugged in.

Not true. You can access the music folder, but all the files are just like hexcodes or something.
