My 8800GTX just crapped out on me. I was wondering if I could send it to EVGA and have them repair it instead of buying a new card. Does EVGA do repairs?
Depends if it's under warranty. Either way they can fix it, or replace it but, if it's not under warranty you'd have to pay them.
Ring them up and ask.
They do offer repairs(at leas they did when the fan blew out on my 7300 which wasn't under warranty) Just be prepared to shell out some cash. Was gonna cost me $30 to fix a $5 fan on my 7300, so it may or may not be worth it.
My card is no longer under warranty so this is definitely gonna cost me. I rather spent money on repairs and shipping it to them and back to me than buy a brand new $300 or $400 card.r2zoo wrote:

EVGA has lifetime warranty.
EDIT: Also, you can buy a $120 video card that is better than the 8800GTX.

tbh
Maybe. Seems like an upgrade maybe would be good since your card died, depending on what you play/do.

Some EVGA cards have a lifetime warranty, not all. Depends on the model # http://www.evga.com/support/warranty/CrazeD wrote:

Well I got off the phone with EVGA and they won't be able to repair my broken card. So they're giving me a new one for free despite the fact that my old ones warranty is expired! They said they would 'upgrade' me to another card. Now, what that means in terms of what card I'm getting I'm not sure of but I'm hoping it's at least a 200 series equivalent of my 8800GTX.
Thank you EVGA!
Thank you EVGA!
Awsome

what exactly went wrong with the old one? i might be interested in it.
"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
I honesty have no idea. Sometimes it would work fine. Other times it would go completely screwy on me, nothing but gibberish would come up on the screen. Sometimes it wouldn't work at all.haffeysucks wrote:

Glad to hear the guys over there helped you out.
I believe they are handing out GTX 260s for 8800GTXs. Not entirely sure. At the minimum you will get a GTS 250 1GB, which performs similarly.
Remember the statement in the warranty is similar value and or performance.

My 8800 GTX was also crapping out on me.
I sent mine in monday, Should be there around monday.
Didn't call them, Just requested an RMA and sent it off.
It's discontinued so hopefully they will upgrade me to something decent.
Btw it is Asus.

His RMA has already been accepted, I'd only do it if the a company doesn't honor an expired warranty.haffeysucks wrote:
