L.A. Edition
Six Flags Magic Mountain
Awesome rides.
Lax security has fostered a ' wild west ' feel to the place as gangstas like to hang out there. The place is dirty and the traffic through L.A. is always misery. They have the best roller coasters and they know it, but got a little to smug. I'll take my wife there but not the kids.
Knots Berry Farm
The place has a pretty cool vibe, a water park and some pretty good rides. But, it is also dirty. As it is substantially cheaper than Disney Land, there is a large number of poor folks and especially Hispanics, but all in all I have never had any issues with that and have never witnessed any security problems. Seems to be a general lack of shade and that can be heinous in summer.
Lego Land
Was there today. All about the kids. 99% of the rides are sleepers. While the place wasn't really dirty, there were spider webs on many of the lights and the place really needs to be painted. The Lego creations are simply amazing, but the UV protective coating they spray on them is peeling and some of them were missing pieces. The wet attractions inside the main park are a stroke of pure genius as it is a fun way to cool down, but all in all, the place was meh and the best part was the small factory set up the had that was pressing legos. Also, the place looked to be at about 30% of capacity, or less. Lots of empty parking, minimal lines. The feeling is that the locals know whats up and shun the place.
Kind of a one time thing and not that interesting for people over 10. The crowd was entirely young kids, parents and grand parents and I did not see one attractive woman all day long, besides the wife, who plays me like a fiddle.

They now serve alcohol, which makes them instantly awsm.
The rides are okay. Nothing too exciting. Oddly enough the ferris wheel at the new section is pretty gripping.
Their main claim to fame is the immaculate state of the park. I would literally eat off of one of the garbage can lids. There is nothing that needs paint, there are no sloppy boxes stacked and shoddy electrical work showing, like at Lego Land. They actually steam clean the entire park every night. There is no gum or even bird shit. It's kind of freaky.
Some of the rides seem dated, but for a place that has been around as long as they have all in all I really got to hand it to them. As Disney has so much cinema history, it attracts all types; families, gay couples, young hot bff ladies in nice wholesome tight Disney sweaters. We have season passes to the place and I will be sad that I can't afford to renew them come September. Weeknights when it is mostly locals are cool with sometimes little wait for rides. Rainy week nights are indeed magical. The park does not shut down for rain, it's like your own private place almost.
