I think that if a particular class runs out of ammo they should get some ammo off of a another member in the team playing the same class as this would make sense and the game a bit more realistic. but I realise that this could manny a implication.

Does anyone know if two jets with support guys in can re-arm each other if flying close enough?!? I haven't tried it yet...........

No reason why not, if you are in a chopper you rearm people if you fly/hover over them... so it should in theory work in a plane...

I've been an engineer in an attack chopper, and repaired a BH we flew near, so rearming should definitely work.

But much like an Engineer can't fix a Heli as fast as the helipad can, I'm sure you can't rearm a jet as fast as the runway would. At least that would be my first assumption on the matter. Unless they only nerfed heli in this way and left jets free.

Yes you can.
Afro and I were practicing this the other day, except with a helicopter and a jet. I dont think it resupplied the bombs on the jet, but otherwise it worked just fine. its not really what I'd call 'safe' either, because the jet has to slow down to pretty much the minimum sustainable speed. Thomasmorgan and I tried with a jet once as well, but we ended up running into each other. All his fault of course...
