Should I wait for USB 3.0 this Winter? Some of the ones now look promising.
I honestly don't think so. I mean, they are quite cheap right now. If you find a good deal, grab one.
If you have an appropriate use for a USB monitor, USB 2.0 isn't going to limit it at all.
Why would you even bother with a USB monitor?
So you can plug it into your keyboard, duh.Wallpaper wrote:

2) No need for another videocard.
3) Because of 2, read 1 again.
But USB has such limited bandwidth, it'll be unusable for most stuff.Defiance wrote:

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
Should be good enough for basic stuff, they make nice secondary monitors if you get the touch screen ones you can do some ammusing stuff with em. handy for incar PC builds too. Only thing it wont do is 3D as the built in graphics cards they use generally dont have 3D accelleration.Freezer7Pro wrote:

Wow never heard of this, I'm assuming analogous to usb sound devices there is some processor costly emulation (i could go look it up but I'd rather ask)?
I was thinking of getting 2...one for IM and the other to constantly monitor php error logs.
Yea, they're mainly used for just putting stuff onto to monitor (error logs, pallets in graphic editing programs, etc.). Not really for watching movies or anything.
