Car question

I drive a 2008 Honda Accord, and recently its been acting weird. Every time I make a right turn, the car (brakes) make a noise that sounds like air is being released from the tire. The noise isnt continuous, its like chhh chhh chhh, the frequency of that depending on the speed I am going. Now I'm pretty sure its something messed up with the brakes because usually when I brake while it is making that sound, the noise stops for a little bit.

I know this is sorta hard to understand because its very hard to explain. But it's annoying, so I am asking for help, does anyone know whats up with my car?

Probably brake pads. They have a little piece of metal on them to warn you when they're getting low. Tapping the brakes can bring the calipers back out far enough that it doesn't rub again right away.

Did you buy this new? If so, try to get the repair covered under warranty at a Honda dealership. The newer Honda Accords have four disc breaks. no rear rotor brakes

are your tires rubbing your tire well?

comeon guys, why would brakes effect it when he turns? That really doesnt make any sense at all

my brakes dont "come on" when im turning unless i step on them

check the tire well and tire for signs of rubbing, this happened to my friend when he put new tires on his vehicle

Okay, hold on. Is it making the sound only when you turn right, when you turn right and brake at the same time, or when you either turn right or brake?

I'd check your discs for any visible damage; run a hose on them. Can you get a recording of the sound?

well if it was his brakes he would be able to tell going straight. Not turning, which leads me to believe that something is rubbing or something more serious like a CV joint

Don't get advice from a video game forum about a car. Take it to the dealership. The car is less than a year old, it still has a warranty - use it. Honda has great customer service.

I honestly think it's something to do with your traction control system, though. There is no mechanical reason that I can think of that would cause you to have issues, unless you've hit something (like a high curb) and REALLY messed up your alignment enough on the front suspension (guessing the right wheel) that would throw off your camber or something there.

My advice: Take it to the dealer and describe the problem to them.

Try driving in a straight line and braking, see if it makes the same sound.

Although it probably is something to do with the brakes, but check your shock absorbers too (lift the car up off the suspect wheel and listen to if the shocks are releasing. If your shocks need replacing, it will sound like air being released intermittently). I say this because 1) it recently happened to my car; and 2) braking can cause your car body to shift weight thus putting a strain on the shocks of that side.

IF it doesn't, CV Shafts, check around the behind the tire to see if you have a build up of grease and if the Boots are cracked or if there is a hole.

Also If its the idiot tab on the break pads, it'll Squeal, metal on metal.

Next look at your rotors, if they are dark instead of shiney metal, they may have been over heated and need to be turned aslong as they aren't warpped.

And it could even be worn out caliper mounting bolts, if you grab ahold of the brake caliper and try to move it and there is play, you'll need a new hardware kit.

It could be that you are low on power steering fluid too. Check the reservoir and if it is low top it up. If that's the problem, you should be able to fix it for less than $10.00.

ONLY disc brakes have rotors, drum brakes have drums. If he has four disc brakes then he has rear rotors.

CV's would be something that would just show up in a turn, but you would expect it to be more of a clicking... and I am not seeing why braking would make it go away.

Hard to make any good guesses off of what was given, the whole "describe the noise" game sucks

But if it is a new car no reason to not drop it off at the dealer and let it be their problem.
