BF2S Forums How would I connect PS3 to an LCD monitor

Thanks Bert but this isn't going to work.
This is what the PS3 cable looks like: I would need a female=female adapter then to connect both cables

the other box is the opposite of what I need-I need HDMI>VGA not the other way around.

Do you have any idea what the picture would be on a hi-res monitor with analog cables? Is it worth going analog?

No, you want to use YUV component for it, not RCA - RCA won't handle a hi-def signal properly, YUV will. You'd need a new PS3 cable.

Also, I had already edited the post saying that box was the wrong way round....

So hi-def can actually pass through analog? Ok gonna do a search for the cable-so PS3 connector>component male  >  component female>VGA

Yes. You want YPbPr cables and there are adapters out there that will convert that signal to VGA. They're the multicoloured ones that use all 3 cables for video, rather than those RCA leads which use one for video and 2 for audio.

I think 720p is about the best you can hope for though.

Would 720p suck for BluRays? What would you get? A monitor or all those cables + adapter box (I've searched and only found complex adapter boxes)
