When you have someone like John Humphrys interviewing their boss it's very different to that.

Not the whole "Ok, Mr Chairman, no problem - we won't talk about the massive scandal you're currently involved in."

Illegal phone taps on celebrities, MPs etc. by the News of the World.

In all fairness, the reporter works for Murdoch and could have his ass fired if he pressed the issue. I imagine if the guy had worked for a non-News Corp owned channel he might have tried a little harder.

So?

You don't get that shit on the Today programme...

Maybe that's because they've got a bit of journalistic integrity and work for a news station that won't fire you for humiliating your boss on air - which is the way it should be.

If I worked for Fox I wouldn't be a dick to Murdoch on air unless I had another job offer lined up. Say all you want for journalistic integrity, but the fact is that if I can't afford to feed my family any more because of it, then I'm not going to start rocking the boat.

I'm only saying this because it's News Corp, if it were any other station I would be more critical.

It's not free press. It's a situation where the press are above the law and have more freedom than you or me. I don't give a shit that they were wiretapping celebrities and MP's who "probably deserved it" - that's fucked up. The cunts broke the law and should be dealt with it properly. If they can break the law, maybe the ordinary folk can do, with a car bomb outside their office...

(note, don't arrest me, it was just figure of speech, wait hang on I'm a journalist so you can't arrest me anyway......yes, that'll work)

I'm all for free press but there are many people in the media that need to get Sniped

Same applies to all the press covering all presidents.  Obama is no different.  It's more of the same, nothing to see here.

Here's the weird thing...   You would think Rupert Murdoch would've bothered to make sure that the story about the News of the World breaking laws wouldn't be brought up during his own interview on one of his own media outlets.

....quite an oversight on Murdoch's part....  lol
