Budget is around $300.  This is just an upgrade from my current PC, which is way past its death date. 
Current:
FX-55 (939 single core)
Asus A8N-SLI Premium
2GB DDR Corsair XMS

Upgrade:
GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P AM3 AMD 770 ATX

AMD Phenom II X3 720 2.8GHz Black Edition

G.SKILL 3GB (3 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) (10666 lulz)

I went with the AMD because it's cheaper and I just like AMD better anyways.

If possible, I would like suggestions on my picks plox

Change ram to 2x2GB kit, AMD supports onnly 2 channel RAM.

You should get a Mugen 2 cooler too, and OC like nuts.

that is good guestion. not very well I guess. you should probably look for 790 based board, if you jsut could stretch out for it.

If you can't afford both the Mugen 2 and the better board at  once, get the better board now and cooler later when you get more money.

In fact, its not much more expensive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … pk=ma-790x that is a great mobo.
