The law was passed the first time June 16th, which the president vetoed. This veto was today overrun, 87-53.
It seems to me that fascism is becoming more prominent in ex-Eastern Bloc-countries (and some good ol' western countries as well). If the ECHR doesn't do anything about this case, the Union shows itself being powerless. No offense to Lithuanians, but who the fuck did you vote into office anyway? And what the fuck are you doing in the EU if stuff like this is going on?
Maybe some countries should've had a longer waiting period before being accepted into the EU? The Baltics, now officially the most homophobic region in Europe, Lithuania in particular.

SourceOne clause of the law seeks to ban materials that “agitate for homosexual, bisexual and polygamous relations” from schools or public places and media where they could be viewed by children, on the grounds that they would have a “detrimental effect on the development of minors.”

A vote on June 11 saw a related law narrowly voted down. The law would have seen proponents of homosexuality fined or imprisoned for up to three years.
SourceRudomanskis said this law would be further reaching than the classroom. Gay Web sites are the gay community’s main medium of communication, and he said these could be shut down.
“Stopping the gay and lesbian Web sites is the best way to fight the LGBT,” he said, adding that films such as “Brokeback Mountain” or “Milk” would be restricted to adult-only viewing.
