I'm having so much trouble installing SF onto my computer. I've uninstalled and reinstalled BF2 three times trying to get SF to work properly. I just reinstalled BF2 using a fresh copy, and want some solid advice on what patches to apply and in what order post/prior to installing SF. I want to get it right this time.
Before I tried installing in this order: BF2, then SF, then patch 1.12, then patch 1.12 - 1.20, then patch 1.20 - 1.21, then 1.21 - 1.22. This method worked on another computer.
Now I'm waiting for advice before installing SF or any patches.
The problems I was experiencing were: loading multiplayer maps and then when join now appears it exits to menu and displays the "only players with unmodified content" box. Then on the second install it would crash to desktop on even singleplayer when it got to 62% on any map, and even on vanilla BF2.
Hopefully installing a fresh copy fixed it, but I want some solid advice on what patches to apply and in what order post/prior to installing SF. I want to get it right this time.
