I like the historical references and the obvious religious meanings to be brought from it. And some of the artwork/plays, etc derived from the text are amazing. Plus it's a good read for a devout atheist such as myself.

Ah, I'd assumed futurist writing was called futurism, seems it was hijacked by some art movement.
But not all futurist writing meets the definition of science fiction, so isn't really.
