Britain takes back America. Starting with Chicago, and the Sears tower.

The Sears Tower in Chicago - one of the most famous skyscrapers in the world - is being renamed.

The 110-storey structure, which opened in 1973, is being rechristened the Willis Tower on Thursday.

London-based insurance brokerage Willis Group Holdings has secured the naming rights as part of an agreement to lease space.

It's a name of a corporation.... to a new name of another corporation. so what.

IF the building was named something like "The Anne Frank Building" and it changed to "Willis Tower" THAT might be a bit wrong.

But "SEARS" doesn't have anything of reverence, respect, cultural/historical merit to the name. it was just a company name.

Really, they should have named it the "Chicago Building" and left it permanent. Chicago residents would of liked it, it would have been better.

Willis Tower it is. IF I ever need a cab ride there "Willis Towe please" BAWWW!!

but it was there for a long time, which means people got used to it. Now it's changing, and people don't like change. Now shit is gonna be confusing
