Sounds good to me, I especially can't wait for the video games on demand feature. I've been waiting for that for awhile now.

Edit: Ah fuck, mispelled xbox 360.

I read about the big Facebook/Twitter integration to XBL too, seems like a pretty mega-lul. Even had examples of features where you can take an in-game screenshot, and automatically 'Post to Facebook'. Retarded, if you ask me.

It's out now. Haha, they have the UNSC Marine armor and a remote controlled warthog in the Halo ODST section.

I can't believe people are actually going to spend real money on avatar clothes. But if the Xbox has taught me anything, it's that people will pay money for absolutely anything. People spend real, actual money on a picture for their background. They pay money for a half-inch wide gamerpic. So why wouldn't they pay money for avatar clothing?

I'll admit some of it is pretty cool. The lightsaber caught my eye certainly. But I will never pay money for any of this stuff. If devs include it in games to be unlocked then brilliant (Which, judging by the 'awards' section, they will). I'd love some. But i'll never buy any of it. It's insane.

I was hoping for a little more variety and choice with the avatar customization market-place: as it stands right now, it's a ridiculously stupid concept that doesn't even offer the 'more money than sense' consumers much towards variation. All of the game outfits are gimmicky and useless, and the 'Styles' and fashion collections give you three options: 13 year old skater-punk / Quiksilver jockey, Adidas clone, or 1860 Northern miner.

I had my debit-card at the ready to snap-up some of that delicious virtual Ralph Lauren

As for Games-On-Demand... it's like they took Steam's already-overpriced distribution system, and then added another 50% mark-up. Call of Duty 2 for £20? Non, nein, no.

Did you expect anything else from Microsoft? I sure as hell didn't.

I dunno, I'm fine paying a 'premium' price for the added convenience... it never bothered me with Steam, at all.

But, they offer 20 games - half of which weren't even worth playing when they first went retail - and then have the ironic cheek to introduce an Avatar clothing line called Recessionista as well, whilst charging you 300% prices, hahaha! I know that Microsoft will no doubt find some success with this new update with the lazy console-kids that have nothing better to spend their money on, but honestly I can do without the silly silly expenditure.

... And I still won't buy them.

The avatar-awards thing is a cool feature, it'll encourage some more milkin' of game achievements and replaying through popular titles... everything else is pretty much trash, though. It's hard for an online-content distribution service to really appeal to me when Play.com pre-orders and the like deliver the game on release-day, anyway, with free delivery of an actually tangible product.

Yeah that's pretty much my line of thought too. It's always cheaper retail.

I hope that devs do (if its possible) make some older games able to give out these rewards. It's unlikely though. It's be better for them if they just made stuff buyable..
