The OP has the question backwards given recent scientific developments

The OP should be "Is science about to make heterosexuality obsolete?" and the answer appears to be yes. Scientists are working on a way to develop male sperm from female stem cells meaning that two women would be able to have a baby together and the parents would be the biological parents.

So it looks more likely that science is about to "cure" heterosexuality.

Actually some homosexuality is no more than a behaviorial trait, while with others it is hormonal.

So in short there will alway be guys that like penis in the same way a Texan likes sheep.  Hell, there are guys that will screw anything.  These people are called perverts. They rape children, animals, corpses, dolls, .........

I do feel sorry for true homosexuals.  Some of it has been traced to their mother's hormones during pregnancy causing their brain to develop like that of a females.  It can even be so sever as to cause sexual identity crisis.  I also saw research years ago where scientist could change the sex of a newborn mouse through high levels of hormones.  Lower levels could create a gay mouse that showed femal traits. 

These are the people that could truely benefit from a medical break through.

Men have been banging men since the cavemen. In fact cavemen preferred bum love and only did the ladies to reproduce.

It will become 100% socially expectably before they find a "cure".
