Do you honestly need fans for your RAM?

Yeah, I was gunna get the 1866MHz Dominator but it was about an extra £100 for only like 2% performance increase, so totally not worth it. But that model came with the airflow fan included.

So I got the 1600Mhz and bought it separately because I've always wanted that Corsair ram cooler, purely because it looks awesome! I'll overclock it to ~1866 anyway with abit of luck!

The Dominators are great. Mine still work flawlessly after a year and a half of stress.

I'd say they're worth it. My OC'd RAM gets super hot. I should get one really.

Good idea. I'll document my Corsair Obsidian build too

Oh and you really don't NEED that ram cooler, the airflow you get from CPU cooler is good enough even for 2000mhz dominators. (looks nice tho)

Looks nice! New ram can get pretty hot. Heatsink on my Mushkins was close to 50C after hours of stress tests and that temperature isn't even the temp of the actuall chips. Dominator is great ram but Dominator GTs based on the Elpida chips tend to fail.

I don't mean to be hostile, but what point do you see in a build log? You can find really cool logs for ongoing mod cases, but those are more interesting, artistic and individual. Building a system is nothing special, we've done that a lot already. Only interesting bit is the final system. I completely understand that you're excited about building a shiny new system, though.

Again, I'm just asking what your take on it is.

I've come to a conclusion that you like fans. The finished PC should be named: FANatic

Some people like seeing 'real', user taken picture of the latest hardware. And as this a computer gaming forum there will be people like that.

Also people wont randomly think.... 'ooh, I want to see a really cool, individual build' and search a forum to find one. But if they see one posted here it might be appealing to them as a passing interest.

Also, not everyone here has built there own system. And even less a high spec system.

I'm just doing it to document it (which I would have done anyway) and share some of the possible enjoyment that people may get from it.

I love seeing all the parts people have bought, and I love seeing pics of them building it too, I wish more people did it.

I love seeing detailed logs like this, shows that you're happy and proud with the money you've spent, plus I like fapping over expensive computer parts.
