I've had my pc on my desk without a case for the past 3 weeks or so with no problems. Today I get a new case, install my computer in it. Plug it, nothing my monitors are on standby, no bios nothing..

I've check my connections twice by removing and plugging it back.
Reseated the video card.
Plugging both power cables in the video card, plugging one, and not plugging any. (2900 xt)

I don't know what's wrong, anyone have a clue?

specs:
2900xt pcie
2gb ram
2.8 amd

sorry for not being more specific about the specs.

I used to have my pc on a board. My video card was always getting bumped and loosened itself up. I'd keep messing with the video card. Do you have another you could swap out with it for testing?

Or, you could try to reset your cmos...which means you'll most likely have to do a repair on windows as well... but that might work...

I tried one stick at the time, all four do the same thing.
I tried placing the card in the other pcie slot (crossfire board)

All fans spinning, including video card.
No beeps.
4 pin wire connected.

you should have 1 beep...post beep... if i remember correctly...
all the power cords are connected...
the ide cables are connected...?
the sata cables are connected?
do you have another power supply to try?

did you put spacers on all the motherboard mounting holes...before you screwed the screws into the motherboard?

http://www.motherboards.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2144 Look for your motherboard, then see what "No Beeps" means... maybe that will help.

The only other time I've seen this is when I removed my RAM while the power cord was disconnected from the PSU. The only way I could get it to post was to swap the video card with a spare, then back again. This somehow kicked the video card into gear. I dunno...I can't explain it, computers are lame.

You can look at another possibility;

What if your monitor passed away.

Try another monitor.

@ [TUF]Catbox : I dont have another power supply that has the right plug for the video card. so no can do.
Also There are a couple of spacers missing, but I also had a couple missing when i had my twelve hundred case.

@ King_County_Downy: no luck.

@ Ioan92 : I run on dual monitors, both do this.

Ok, I don't get it. I take it out of case, lay it on the desk and it works..

Fuck it, I'm leaving it on the desk for now.

sounds like a ground problem with the case... or a loose or bad wire
