BF2S Forums My bf2 wont patch

Download the whole 1.22 patch via EA downloader. Once you install that your BF2 will work just fine. I had the same issue and didn't want to re-install BF2 either. After I had done this it works fine now.

I tried installing the 1.22 inc patch but my comp crashed half-way through. Now it wont reload the patch because it sais its not 1.21 anymore.

Will the full 1.22 patch fix this?

Yes it will fix it - and if u have renamed your bf2.exe file and the shortcuts u need to rename them back to original before u patch !

I forgot to say that I could load up a server, but it sais "modified content, please revert to original content".

Will it still work?

Thats what i meant with the rename of the bf2.exe file and the shortcuts.

U have to name them back to original and then patch the game - then u can rename them back to bf22.exe or whatever.

If u patch without the original bf2.exe u will get the modified content error ...

try typing this into start->run:

%systemroot%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver

Then press enter, it will show you info about your installer version then press ok, it will go back to desktop then patch it.  If it doesn't show you infro about your installer version it will automatically go back to desktop.  Either way, then patch it.  It works for some people including me.
