Hey guys, I've got an XTi and the kit lens (which is on its last legs) as well as a 28-200 3.5/5.6. I recently found 600 dollars in my closet (no kidding huh) and i'm getting an extra 100 this weekend for selling something-

For the most part I shoot school shots for my yearbook job next year, and cars at shows as well as cars driving (rolling shots) and landscapes and shit. I <3 long exposure shots at night.

I want clarity like this- http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=278922

I think the 28-200 is pretty good so I don't think I need to replace that....
What would you suggest next? I don't want to blow a ton of cash, the cash-performance is what im looking for

Cheapest L Series Lens, will suit you well

I'm a Nikon person, but see if you can find a fixed 50mm lens.

Those things are awesome, and they force you to be less lazy.

I'm an experienced Canon user, and photographer.

The 50mm 1.4 is easily the best piece of glass that Canon do that isn't in the "L" series, I 've had for some time and it's still one of my favourite lens, it's ultra sharp, goes all the way down to 1.4 aperture, no it's not  zoom, but with zooms you sacrifice sharpness, and it's not pricey which is a big plus.

You wont regret this buy, PM me if you need to know more.

Agreed with both of these. 17-40's are great lenses to have, however the 50mm f1.4 is also shit hot. If you've already got a zoom lens, I'd be tempted to get the 50mm. I'm a Nikon man myself, but there are pretty similar lenses for both brands so I can tell you they're good.

Thanks, That 50mm looks like a great lens for the price, I'm seriously considering this one- I mean I would LOVE to own that L glass but for 2 times the price I can't really see that I really need it as the most I get paid is about 10-20$ per car shoot i do occasionally. I think that 28-200 I've got does the job for the zooms, and that 50 would be perfect for my car shoots/ yearbook assignments and the clarity I want.
