Has anyone flown with LOT (Polish national airline) before? Also, has anyone here flown through Warsaw (made a connecting flight)? Making a trip with LOT and have to go through Warsaw and I am just curious what I can expect. How's the food, staff, etc.? Is the alcohol free on board? Just wondering.
Nobody has free booze unless it's first class mate.
My dad has, in the 90's though. Where are you going?
Beer and wines are complimentary in coach on quite a few airlines still, thankfully.ATG wrote:

@ OP: I think it's OK. EU East Europeanoperators have good quality in general Less like Rossija, more like Czech Airlines. Probably hot chicks, updated planes and a quiet environment. The Russian pilots can't be assed to do the finishing touches in landing, they just drop it like a brick after bringing the plane to about 20 feet off the ground.
I need around tree fiddy.
Although they still charge for corkage.DonFck wrote:

Here is a link to LOT's page with Skytrax (the organisation that conducts research and gives out industry awards, etc) - http://www.airlinequality.com/Airlines/LO.htm
They don't seem *that* bad..

Rate it yourself.
When I went to Europe I used trains because my dad is a tightass.
Except for Berlin > Paris. There was some smokin hot chick that I kept perving on...

I am flying from Vienna to Warsaw to Chicago with LOT. Then from Chicago home to Atlanta with Canada Air.
Thanks for the link, McMinty.
I remember Lufthansa back in 2007 still gave out free liquor. British Airways also did it in 2005 last time I flew with them (post 7/7).

Why are you complicating yourself so much? fly direct with Austrian Airlines...CapnNismo wrote:

boeings and airbuses or tupolevs and illyushins, that is the question
I flew LOT two years ago. Best airline food I ever have had. Hot stewardesses too.
I like pie.
I would always go Chicago > Germany > Poland all with LOT, they're good, don't worry about it.CapnNismo wrote:

The flight plan was cheap and AUA doesn't fly direct to Atlanta from Vienna.Ioan92 wrote:

I flew from San Francisco to DC on United the other day. No free food for coach/economy class. God I fucking hate all the legacy airlines. Thankfully they were nice enough to let me bring my own food on.

Delta flies direct from Atlanta to Vienna, but it's a bitch of a flight to get it seems for an affordable price. Everytime I look at Delta's site they always have the route running through Paris. Weird.
any airline has hotter stewardesses than ones based in the US.
on those, you get old, wrinkley, fat, tired women who have been serving passengers for 30+ years.

Finnair does. Champagne too. (no, not the expensive brands)ATG wrote:

Actually, the European airlines all do free booze on overseas flights. Helps you sleep. I've yet to have to pay for booze on a pond hopper flight. Always been able to get a white wine and a Jack and Coke (with Jack Daniels!).
