Anyone played this? It's a mod for STALKER: SoC. New skins, new sounds, new features, new monsters and new weapons make for an game.
Screens:
Just about every weapon has been given a new skin and new sounds. Some even have new animations, like the LR300:
A few new enemies have been added (back) in: Dwarfs, civilian zombies and invisible zombies just to name a few. You'll also find mutants where they wouldn't be normally - For example, I got mobbed by a controller when I was leaving the scientists lab in Yantar.
You can also drive vehicles - from cars to armored trucks. Very good for crossing the zone quickly.
A shitload of weapons have been put in. Some were from the game originally, but were taken out (TOZ, MAC 10) while others are completely new. I downloaded a mod which adds every gun, suit, ammo type and attachment to the barkeeper's inventory. Here's all that you can buy:
The inventory system has been changed too - you can carry up to 90Kg now, and you have 10 slots for artifacts on your suit. You can also put small weapons - like the MP5, sawn-off or P90 - into the pistol slot.
Some of the new guns have issues - sounds not being timed with the animations, clipping issues and such - some are just awesome fun: For instance, the Saiga (AKA the Rape Cannon 9000):
Other content includes:
Blowouts
The ability to sleep
Very dark nights
The ability to create new artifacts
Reworked weapon stats (the shotguns, pistols and silencers are now useful!)
The ability to repair weapons/armor
The ability to join factions
A less detailed HUD (crosshair is a dot, enemies are not numbered on the radar, no sprint meter, etc)
Bosses
Freeplay (you can continue playing after the NPP showdown)
If you liked STALKER, then you'll be wanting to play this. If you didn't like STALKER, then you're a tool you'll enjoy this - it feels like a new game. It's only ~170MB (plus 160KB for the trader mod, which you can get from fpsbanana.com) so it's not a huge chunk from your quota.
Thoughts?
