imo it is just there to allow HP/Compaq to market it as "HD-ready" making dumb consumers buy something that is useless because they think they are getting the latest tech...
And while I am at it, I will NEVER own another HP/Compaq product again if I have anything to say.. more faulty and flawed hardware you have to search long and hard for..

Of course bad CRT's look smudgy and only support low refresh rates (which do make eyes hurt) but any decent CRT that is big enough for the resolution that it is used with and does 85+ Hz is not bad for the eyes, nor smudgy. And the colours are just superior to TN panels. Quite probably you just haven't had the possibility to use a decent CRT monitor.FloppY_ wrote:

The image quality going from a DVI-out on a gfx card through an analog-Dsub adapter to the monitor results in a perfect, crystal clear image... so I really can't see any reason for further improvement before 1920x1600 or higher becomes main-stream for gaming....
