No, Microsoft fails for sourcing the work out to what ever shit farm did it.menzo wrote:
1 rrod (that i fixed with the method above) in 3.5 years. manufacture date of my xbox360 is Dec 2005Poseidon wrote:
The new ones are 10x better. I'm pretty sure they're actually RRoD proof.GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

The old ones, however...
you guys just fail, i have it on 4 little blocks of wood so it gets enough air.
If the thing has to be on blocks to work with out failing that's crap. Shit design and shit execution. I can't believe so many people are fine with it.
I've had my 360 since Feb 07 and I've never had a problem with it. I'm just one of the lucky ones I guess (touch wood)
Serious Flex
sounds like a good idea tbhph1shman420 wrote:

you'll be fine with the jasper
but if that one goes bad on you too I'd encourage calling Microsoft up and arranging a skullfucking of Bill Gates.
oh and btw, I've still never gotten the RRoD. I had Premium v2 model (no idea what it was called) that I got in Dec. 2006 that lasted me till January of this year, and now I have a Falcon Elite which has lasted me to this day.

Haha mine works now. I took off the hard drive and turned it on and it works! Nothing seems to be wrong with it now. I'm wondering if the HD was heating up the solder? Whatever, I'm happy.
Concerningly, manufacturers are fairly similar to those making Mac logic boards (the 360 is PowerPC based after all).GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

The early Xenon motherboards (2005) are of a similar era to the iMac G5 (2004-2006) - which had some of the most abysmally bad mainboards that I've ever seen (they've improved vastly since Intel got involved).
