5mm LED lights......

So im doing an LED light project.

Im probly gunna buy these:

How exactly do they work though. I understand ill need a small resistor so the power doesnt burn out the led? But other than that is it basically positive one said and negative the other?

These will be running from DC current - likely out of my dome light because that has a dimmer already built in.

Is it that easy basically?

Quit spending money on stupid projects like this and keep saving for a new car. Sure its a small amount, but small purchases are where all the money gets sucked up. Cut out all the small purchases you don't NEED and watch the savings.

Get TV/DVD/Stereo Remote
Point Remote at Camera.
Look at Camera screen while pointing remote control at Camera lens while pushing remote control's buttons.
Be slightly amused and maybe a bit surprised.

Ive wanted to get a thick shirt (woven wool maybe) and hide a bunch of Infrared LEDs in the texture, and walk into a bank with the LEDs wired up and running. The guys on security Cameras would be all O_O WTF?
