Hey all !
I played a lot BF2 last summer, with an Ati card, without any problem.
I wanted to play again after too much time in world of warcraft, and i was really shocked that Geforce 4 were not able to run the game !! I mean, I really want to play BF2 again and I have no money to buy another graphic card to replace my Geforce 4.
I searched a lot on google and found pretty nothing...
I'm just hopping for some fixes or help about that, and you can troll/flame me all you want it's ok
If it has been already aborted in the forum, just leave the link, I didn't find any tips with "search"

yours, ruze

PS. Damn, help me out, I HAVE to play BF2 again

My Ati radeon 9800 went broke last week, I had to take back my old GF4 ...
Believe me if I had enough money I would buy another card, but times are rude and I want to know if there is a solution to that GF4 issue

Sorry bud as far as i can tell the Geforce 4 does not support Dx 9c and as such there is no way that i know of to get it to work on multiplayer. There is however a shader mod which allows the game to be played in single player ( not much help ). Do a google for Bf2 shader mod for geforce 4 and you should find links that will help. Sorry thats all i can find out for you.

Hope this helps.

Sorry chief, but a GeForce 4 won't pass muster for BF2, simply because the chipset won't support pixel shaders or any of the other changes implemented in DirectX 9.0.

I'd suggest begging, borrowing, or stealing* around $100 and seeing where that can get you.  My 256MB Radeon 9550 has been going strong for 9 months, and overclocked 60% (!) it's capable of running BF2 at Medium graphics detail.  It set me back all of $99.99.  I saw it at CompUSA last week for $80, and so a DX9-compatible card now should be in the $70 range.  Happy hunting!
