Hey folks

I've been using FF with no problems for about 2 years now but today and yesterday it seems that every minute or so it freezes for about 5 secounds, the egg timer appears and I can't do anything. All other windows/applications I have open during this time work fine. But for the past 15 minutes it has been doing the same thing but slowing my entire PC down with it. I've had to resort to using IE7 !

Any ideas?

Did you try removing all addons one by one? Or reinstalling FF?

I had the same problem. It just randomly freezes for a few soconds. I reinstalled and haven't had any problems since.

I know that in FF3.0 I had serious memory leak issues. Are you on 3.5?

Does it still happen if you turn off all extensions?

Turned all my add ons off and it seems to be working fine.

I'm using FF 3.0.8 btw

3.0.8 was old in it's own right (I think they made it to 3.0.12)

I highly recommend updating to 3.5 if you can. It was a very worthwhile update for me -- it fixed it so that I can leave FF open longer than 5 hours and not have it using over 500mb of memory >.<

Updated to 3.5, enable the google toolbar which is the only add-on and I use and all is working perfect.
